Chrysler group, same thing. Both cheaply made unreliable cars. I feel bad for the owner, it’s juuuuuuust outside the warranty.

I think you mean Mitsubishi.

Based off a Mitsubishi platform.
And since it’s the transmission that failed, it’s either the fault of Hyundai if it’s the 6 speed or Jatco (Owned by Nissan) if it’s the CVT.

What kind of warranty covers the transmission to close to 136K miles?

I laughed hard. It seemed so normal, and then wham!

Lol, that lasted longer than all but one GM trans we have had.

OOH I’mma run that VIN...
EDIT: Former rental, no dealer service history except one recall in 2014, nothing left of warranty of course.
Might actually be legit.

This is honestly a really good deal. A new transmission plus labor will still be way less than what a perfectly functioning Patriot will cost.

Well 5 year 100k mile. So not super close, but still would be super frustrating.

I’d probably guess CVT because they’ve got issues, but idk fur shur.

I would get it but it’s still a Patriot at the end of the day.

I’d say legit. They’re probably just sick and tired of dealing with it.

They’re bad as a vehicle, but it’s OK at what it is.

Knowing what those CVTs cost and how hard they are to come by, I’d believe it.
